Addressing the economical and social determinants of health to develop economically viable and sustainable  models for affordable and accessible healthcare in different economies.

EcoFin Healthcare is a not-for-profit partnership of organisations, agencies and statutory bodies working on public health, disease prevention, promoting health, and reducing inequalities.

EcoFin supports members’ work in associated states through research, policy and project development, knowledge and expertise exchange, research, networking, and communications.

EcoFin’s funding comes from Member and Partner fees, a core grant from the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI), and co-funded project grants. It continues to try to increase the proportion of funds from direct participation to improve self-governance and collaborating with academies of international repute for training programmes.

We take pride in working in a transparent, ethical, and independent way. This is reflected in the integrity of our work in evidence building, advocacy, and policy development. An external accountant and audit agency prepares annual financial and balance reports, which are then certified by a separate advisory and accounting firm. The General Council checks and approves the financial reports at its annual meeting. The audit reports for previous ten years are available online; contact EcoFin

EcoFin Healthcare brings together partners operating at EU, national, regional, and local levels. This partnership model strengthens the voice of and approaches to health promotion and prevention in the different countries, and stimulates action at all levels of government.

The office monitors, influences, analyses, and explains EU policy and action related to health inequalities and determinants. The expertise and experience of the partners is amplified and shared, helping to influence change at European, National, and sub-national levels.

EcoFin Healthcare also has an important role in facilitating information exchange between partners through study visits, capacity building actions and technical working groups. This helps them to build capacity and knowledge, so they can build on the best that Europe has to offer in the field of public health and health promotion.

EcoFin Healthcare seeks to find links and synergies between fields of expertise and sectors, and to stimulate interaction between policy makers, researchers and practitioners.

Many EcoFin Healthcare activities take place across three platforms covering policy, practice, and research. Close interaction between the platforms, and unification through a core team and activities, ensures that each field builds on the work of the others, and that actions are aligned.

EcoFin Healthcare’s vision is of a society, in which all citizens enjoy their fundamental right to the highest attainable standard of health, in a economical viable model for the country.

Clear rules and guidelines for collaboration, branding and endorsement of training programmes, and are well established and set out in the ‘How We Work’ document, available on request. Risk assessment and due diligence is critical for all partnerships including sponsorships and trainings.
